Due to a major computer ml

fuction some of the  news were lost, but they are available on hard copy,  Durig this time our efforts was in computerizing   members accounting, re-writin the by-laws and moving the Society in the new direction.

We had a group of Italians visiting us. They are from Modena and Bologna and are members of the Societa' Modenese (in Modena) and others are members of the Villa D'oro Bocce club (again in Moden) These are some of the same people that hosted 11 of us last year for a week in Modena.  We made them Associate Members of the Modenese Society USA (Tommaso and Nicola will have to wait a few more years). Here are the names of the Italians.

Other News and comments since March 20 2008.

The annual members dinner dance in April was a success (a few problems..... next year it will be better, we promise)  Many of the ladies new members attended and it was a wonderful evening. The total number of new members since January 20 has grown to100plus. The club now has over 300 members.

I will publish a complete list of members in my next update.

Welcome and thank you.

Jan 31, 2008 - Welcome to the ladies.
As of January 1, 2008 the women became eligible to join the Modenese.  An intial mailing of 25 letters produced a response of 18 plus 9 more by word of mouth for a total of 27new women members. Coincidentally when the Modenese was started 102 years ago the number of men members was, you guessed it, 27.  The ladies will be formally initiated into the club on February 28. It will be a great day for the Modenese and there will be more to come. We welcome this first group and congratulate them for joining us.
